By accessing and using Band Name Registry ("the Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

Band Name Registry is a free directory where bands can register and list their band name. The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

3. User-Submitted Content

When you submit a band registration, including your band name, location, genre, bio, links, and photos, this content is stored in our database and may be displayed publicly on the site. By submitting content, you confirm that:

  • You have the right to submit the content.
  • The content does not infringe on any third-party rights.
  • You grant Band Name Registry a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display and use the submitted content as part of the Service.

4. Photos and Images

By uploading a photo, you represent and warrant that:

  • You own the photo or have obtained permission from the copyright holder to upload and display it.
  • The photo does not violate any person's right of privacy or publicity.
  • You grant Band Name Registry a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to display, resize, and distribute the photo as part of the Service, including in search results and social media previews.

We reserve the right to remove any photo at our discretion.

5. Content Review and Removal

All band submissions are reviewed before being listed publicly. We reserve the right to approve, reject, or remove any submission at our sole discretion, for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Offensive, abusive, or illegal content.
  • Spam or fraudulent submissions.
  • Submissions that appear to impersonate another band.

6. No Trademark or Legal Guarantee

Registration in the Band Name Registry does not constitute a trademark registration, legal claim, or exclusive right to a band name. The Service is an informational directory only. For legal protection of your band name, consult a trademark attorney.

7. Prohibited Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service to submit offensive, abusive, or illegal content.
  • Attempt to disrupt or overload the Service through automated requests or abuse.
  • Scrape or harvest data from the Service without permission.
  • Submit false or misleading information.

8. Intellectual Property

The design, code, and original content of Band Name Registry are owned by Band Name Registry and may not be copied or reproduced without permission. User-submitted content remains the property of the submitter, subject to the license granted above.

9. Limitation of Liability

Band Name Registry is provided free of charge. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to disputes over band names, reliance on registry listings, or loss of submitted content.

10. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
